Gratefulshrink Such a timeless album, yet somehow also very much of its time. Yet again, uniquely looking backwards to krautrock, jangle pop, trance/dance and lounge music while pointing to the future of creative indie rock. The album grabs you, and doesn't ever let you go. It's addictive.

Bruce Grossman This album was my go to at a temp job I had for a bank. Where I was taking photos for microfiche look it up. Still love this album to this day. Favorite track: Pack Yr Romantic Mind.
Kaspar Kütt

Kaspar Kütt Early noisy Stereolab peaks with this krauty behemoth of an album. Sublime from the start. Favorite track: Tone Burst.

Smiley McGrouchpants Jr. Esq. III One of the best. I used to play this at 88.5 WHPK FM, back in the days when men were men, and Steve Albini used to shit his pants, pissing in his tighty-whitys (he went to Northwestern -- he was SCARED of U of C'ers!) on a regular, routine basis and being covered up for by the alternative press -- Jack Rabid, of "The Big Takeover," being the sole holdout of note, I think. Pitchfork didn't exist yet.

He came into the station once and pissed himself -- it was disgusting, but no-one said anything. Favorite track: Our Trinitone Blast.
Jesse Mullen

Jesse Mullen Truly amazing album. While not as complex as later Stereolab, the groop perfectly merges shoegaze, motorik, and noisepop for a concoction of sound to get lost in. Favorite track: Crest.
